This is the “Big Eid,” a day of declaring the greatness of Allah (Takbirat al-Tashreeq) and reviving the sunnah of Udhiyah (Qurbani). As we share the meat of the sacrifice with friends, family, and the poor, we remind ourselves that it is not the meat nor the blood that reaches Allah, but the piety (Taqwa) of our hearts.\n
