Eid al-Adha (Feast of Sacrifice)
10 Dhu al-Hijjah 1447 | ١٠ ذو الحجة ١٤٤٧
Today we commemorate the unwavering submission of Prophet Ibrahim (عليه السلام) and the patience of his son Ismail (عليه السلام) When commanded to sacrifice what he loved most, he did not hesitate, and Allah replaced the sacrifice with a ram from Jannah. This is the “Big Eid,” a day of declaring the greatness of Allah (Takbirat al-Tashreeq) and reviving the sunnah of Udhiyah (Qurbani). As we share the meat of the sacrifice with friends, family, and the poor, we remind ourselves that it is not the meat nor the blood that reaches Allah, but the piety (Taqwa) of our hearts.
