Hijra (Islamic New Year)
1 Muharram 1448 | ١ محرم ١٤٤٨
Today we mark the beginning of the year 1448 AH, remembering the defining moment of our history: the Hijrah. The migration of the Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) from Makkah to Madinah was not a flight from fear, but a strategic move from oppression to justice, marking the birth of the Islamic state. It teaches us that sometimes, for the sake of our Deen, we must leave what is comfortable and familiar. As we enter the sacred month of Muharram, one of the four forbidden months, we ask Allah to grant the Ummah relief and victory in this new year.
