Laylat al-Nisf min Sha’ban لَيْلَةُ النِّصْفِ مِنْ شَعْبَانَ (Night of Forgiveness)
15 Sha’ban 1447 | ١٥ شعبان ١٤٤٧
Laylat al-Nisf min Sha’ban, this is the “Night of Records” and a profound spiritual milestone leading up to Ramadan. It is narrated that on this night, Allah looks upon His creation with infinite mercy and forgives all of them except those who harbor malice or sever ties of kinship. It is a night for deep introspection—to clean our hearts of grudges, to seek forgiveness from those we have wronged, and to stand in the night prayer asking Allah to write us down among the people of happiness and salvation for the coming year.
The Hadith of Mu’adh ibn Jabal (RA): The Prophet صَلَّىٰ ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ said:
“Allah looks down upon His creation on the middle night of Sha’ban and forgives all His creation, except for a polytheist (mushrik) or one who holds a grudge (mushahin).”
